It’s been a while since I’ve blogged anything at all. I’ve truly been slacking but it’s time that I jump back on the horse and get back to what I know. I’m going to start off with a piece that gave me a lot of inspiration. Most of the time I receive inspiration from hearing others speak and understanding their input on the things that impact their lives. In this piece, you’ll get a taste of the lives that Rick Owens & his wife Michele Lamy share.
Christian Dada presented his dark Fall/Winter 2012 collection where a urban-goth mood penetrated through sci-fi patent leather, satchels, kaleidoscopic shimmers and a slight passé silhouette. There where some very impressive pieces although a bit stagy yet the knitwear felt comfortable enough to take them from runway to street.
Fresh off a release from his deal with Universal Republic, iFFY The Bad Man has opted to go the indie route. A wise move, which should have more music from the young talent in our hands shortly. His new EP, Lover By Day, Thief At Night, which he brands as ‘gothic soul’ should be out sometime next month. Above, check out his video for “Dead Dog Highway.” Video directed by Happy BirthDay (song produced by Dan Auerbach & Patrick Carney aka The Black Keys)
For better or for worse, Lindsay Lohan has never been far from the spotlight. With seemingly more arrests and incarcerations than film roles, life for the troubled young Hollywood starlet has been anything less than tumultuous. But Lohan ended 2011 on a number of progressive career notes – first, for her admirable role in Robert Rodriguez’s film Machete, then shortly after, with her electrifying Marilyn Monroe-inspired photo spread for Playboy Magazine. Renowned American photographer Terry Richardson has expanded on Lohan’s striking resemblance to Monroe, photographing her for the UK’s LOVE Magazine. The spread finds the always-provocative Lohan in vintage lingerie, again channeling Marilyn herself in 21st century fashion. Lohan’s photo issue of “After Taste” in LOVE Magazine is available now in the UK.
Prada presents a new take on the popular wingtip brogue model for its 2012 spring/summer season. Available in classic patent black and more extreme multicolored versions, the shoe retains the instantly recognizable wingtip upper but replaced the sole with an interesting molded arrangement that models itself on a spiked running shoe design. Set for release soon, the Prada 2012 spring/summer wingtip brogue sneakers have a Japanese retail price of ¥81,900 JPY (pproximately $1,015 USD).
Gucci’s leather-crafting history goes back over 90 years, but this briefcase has thoroughly modern appeal thanks to its dark red and cream stripes. The softly structured piece has room enough for all your documents and technology, and is highly versatile due to its handles and detachable shoulder strap. Whether worn with a pin-sharp suit or a more casual ensemble, you’ll be ready to take on the working day in style.
Consistently one of the highlights of London Fashion Week Menswear season after season, it was an excited audience that sat down in the BFC Courtyard Space for Christopher Shannon’s Autumn Winter 12 show. Having recently launched his jersey line, Kidda, this collection was always going to be one where he tried out a few new ideas, and that he certainly did. Building in a number of bomber jackets into the show, “mainly just because I know pretty much everyone loves them”, it was proportion, volume and structure that came across.
I personally just became a big fan of his work, check out the images below & tell me what you think.
